The granite air flotation guide rail platform is a high-precision motion guiding component formed by using natural granite as the guide rail base and combining air flotation technology. It uses compressed air to form a micron-sized air film between the guide rail and the moving parts, preventing mechanical contact between the two and achieving suspended relative motion. Granite is precisely ground and processed to ensure that the surface of the guide rail has extremely high flatness, straightness and smoothness, providing a stable foundation for the air flotation system.
Granite air float guide rails have the following advantages:
(1) The guide rail surfaces are lubricated by gas, and their friction coefficient is extremely small (about 0.0005), so the driving power can be greatly reduced. The power requirements for drive components have been significantly reduced, and the cost and thermal impact will also be greatly decreased accordingly!
(2) As it is non-contact friction, the guide rail wears extremely little, has a long service life, can maintain manufacturing accuracy for a long time, and reduces maintenance workload.
(3) The air film has the effect of error equalization and can improve the movement accuracy of the guide rail.
(4) The thickness of the air film is almost unaffected by speed. Even at extremely low speeds, it will not crawl and the movement is smooth.
(5) It generates almost no heat, does not undergo viscosity changes, and no additional cooling measures are required.
With these advantages, granite air-bearing guide rails have become core components of high-end equipment such as precision machine tools, coordinate measuring machines, and semiconductor lithography equipment, and are one of the key technologies for achieving ultra-precise motion control.
